Today is such an important day! I am the proud Aunt of a brand new little niece! (My husband's sister had her second baby today and she is just GORGEOUS!) So Happy, Happy Birthday to little Miss Molly! :)
Also, today is the day of my very first post on my new blog! I'm not really sure what exactly it is I'll be posting on here, but I got the idea from Jenn, whose post's I regularly follow. I figured, if anything my parents and sister would enjoy reading a little about my day-to-day life. (Although, I do generally keep in close contact with my mom; we talk once a day, most days.) But anyhow. I'm officially a blogger; so here goes!
This week I'm on "grass week", which might as well be leave. It's the week we spend "snapping in" (for you who don't know, snapping in is more or less spending hours in the position in which you will be shooting, like the prone, sitting, kneeling and standing positions). The point is to prepare us (and our little armsies) for next week, where in we actually get out and put some rounds down range. Next week will be long and tedious and exhausting. I'll intend to be quite stressed over the whole ordeal, so you can look forward to a plethora of complaints in next weeks blogs. :)
The past two days however, have been been quite good. I got home early yesterday and was able to enjoy a long nap before Travis got home. I woke up later than I'd planned (his call to say he was on his way woke me up) so dinner was a quick "whatever I could throw together"--so in other words, we had what I call "food-in-a-bag". My favorite food-in-a-bag brand is Stouffer's and it's just frozen pre-made stuff like pasta or stir-fry, cooks in ten minutes or less and pairs well with a roll or some bread. They're about as tasty as you'd get for $5.00 at Wal-Mart, and I keep a stash of them in the freezer for when I'm too tired, or too busy or just feel like cheating. Which isn't all the time, but occasionally. Tonight for dinner we're having slow cooked Crock Pot Porkchops with rice and some type of veggie. My mom advised me that the best way to cook a pork chop would be in the crock pot, so in they went and so far, they smell wonderful!
